Charles E. Kirk Obituary (1937 - 2014)

CHELMSFORD- Charles E. Kirk, 77, a longtime resident of Chelmsford and former resident of Woburn passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ethel (Ferguson) Kirk to whom he was married for 45 years. He was born in Woburn on October 23, 1937 a son of the late Paul and Rose (Flaherty) Kirk. He attended schools in Woburn and later worked as a Filter Operator at Atlantic Gelatin Company in Woburn. Charles was a member of the VFW Post 88 in Billerica. He enjoyed camping and playing horseshoes and cribbage. Above all, Charles loved to spend time with his family, especially fishing with his grandchildren and taking them to see the ducks out on the pond. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by five children, William Lombardi and his wife Catherine, Charles Kirk, Carol Palumbo and her husband John, Margaret Spinazola and Lisa Lombardi; nine grandchildren, William Spinazola, Derek Lombardi and his wife Colleen, John Tedder, Kerianne Daigle, Dylan Lombardi, Chad Fellows, Brianna Kirk, John, Robert and Laura Palumbo and two great-grandchildren, Blake and Chase Lombardi. He also leaves a sister and two brothers, Marie Ward, Larry Kirk and his wife Paula and Thomas Kirk and his wife Judy. He is predeceased by a son and daughter, Brian Kirk and Diana Kirk and several brothers and sisters. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 11 am to 1 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St. Chelmsford. His funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 1 oclock. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
