Chester Harding Davis Obituary (1920 - 2013)

CHELMSFORD- Chester Harding Davis, 92, a resident of Chelmsford since 1968, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Emily Rose (Gilders) Davis to whom he had been married for 68 years prior to her death on June 18, 2012. He was born in Framingham on November 27, 1920 and was the son of the late Hobart M. and Ella (Nichols) Davis. Chester was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a photographer for the U.S. Air Force, Raytheon, and Fotobeam. Chester and Emily met during World War II and were married in England. He was a member of the Chelmsford Elks and a frequent volunteer at the V.A. in Bedford. His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his loving family. Chester is survived by his children; Sandra R. Klopfer and her husband Albert L. of Coventry, CT, Linda Davis of Chelmsford, and Paul C. W. Davis and his wife Amelia of Chelmsford, 6 grandchildren; Albert, Andrew, and Michael Klopfer, Hilary Klopfer Burns, and Andrew, and Spenser Davis, as well as 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 10 to 11 am at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD followed by a Funeral Service at 11 oclock at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
