Christine Gower Perry

–

Merrimac, Massachusetts

Christine Gower Perry, age 44, a longtime resident of Merrimac, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Douglas B. Perry, with whom she enjoyed 14 years of marriage.

She was born in Lowell on December 8, 1981, and was the daughter of Dale (Deslauriers) Gower of Tewksbury and the late Patrick Gower.

Born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, Christine was a caring, compassionate woman who dedicated much of her life to taking care of others. Her passion for helping people led her to a career in nursing, where she found a special place working in Labor and Delivery at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. She cared for mothers and babies there from 2007 until 2021, bringing compassion, kindness, and genuine concern to the families she served.

She graduated from Clark University in 2004 and later earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, graduating in 2007.
But her greatest source of love and pride was her family, especially her two sons, who meant the world to her. She loved being their mother and treasured the time she spent with them. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Ranger, who was an important part of her family and brought her endless companionship and happiness.

Christine knew how to enjoy the simple things in life. She loved putting together puzzles, watching reality television, spending time at the beach, and relaxing with the people and animals she loved. And in her later years, she developed a newfound passion for basketball, particularly Paige Bueckers. She became a devoted fan of the former UConn superstar and current WNBA star, following her career with the enthusiasm of someone who had discovered a new favorite player to cheer for.

In addition to her loving husband and mother, Christine leaves her children Beckett and Keller; her sister Jennifer Swan and her husband Patrick Swan of Louisville, KY; her brother Ryan Gower and his companion Susan Van Praag of Brooklyn, NY; her mother-in-law Martha Perry of Buxton, ME; her father-in-law Blake Perry of Vassalboro, ME; and her sister-in-law Alyson Cornell and her husband Tim Cornell of Buxton, ME. Christine also leaves one niece Ella Swan; two nephews Nicholas Cornell and Brennan Swan, and is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins

In addition to her loving father, Christine is predeceased by her aunts Bonnie Redding and Kelly Ormsby; her grandparents Alfred and Louise Deslaurier, Lorraine Gower, Leigh and Viva Perry, and Elizabeth McClure and Doug’s brother Blake Perry.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 4pm – 7pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St. CHELMSFORD. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11am. Interment will be held privately.
