Clementine 'Clemmie' Marchand Obituary (1924

CHELMSFORD Clementine Clemmie Marchand, 90, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, passed away on January 24, 2015. She was surrounded by her family at her time of death. She was born in East Chelmsford on May 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Teixeira) Ferreira, who immigrated from the Madeira Islands, Portugal. She graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1942. She was the widow of Albert A. Marchand who passed away in 1996. Clemmie was active in so many ways as a 27 year employee at Marshalls, a communicant at St. Marys Church, an avid seamstress and knitter, and a proud volunteer at the Chelmsford Senior Center Supportive Day Care for many years. She is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Young and her husband, Roger and her devoted son, Richard Marchand and his wife, Jennifer. She was a loving grandmother to Heather (Young) Monte and husband Andrew, Robin (Young) Bliss and husband, Caleb, Jeffrey Marchand and wife, Rhonda, and Jason Marchand and wife, Christine. In addition, she leaves five great-grandchildren, Benjamin Marchand, Braeden Monte, Bryce Monte, Evelyn Bliss, and Katherine Marchand. She also leaves many nieces and nephews for whom she cared deeply and they all called her, Aunt Clemmie. She is pre-deceased by her brothers, Joseph Ferreira and Charles Ferreira, and her sister Mary (Ferreira) Garcia. Visiting hours will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Wednesday from 4 until 7 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 oclock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford.
