Connell T. Albertine Obituary (2012)

Connell T. Albertine, 90, a longtime resident of Chelmsford died Thursday, April 19th at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Hope E. (Tilton) Albertine, to whom he was married for 65 years. He was born in Somerville on December 17, 1921, and was a son of the late Connell and Lorretta (Ferretti) Albertine. He received his education in Lexington schools and was a graduate of Lexington High School. Connell proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Early in life he was the owner of Bedford Meatland in Bedford. He then went on to work for many years as a Volkswagen salesmen in Woburn. After his retirement he remained in the automotive industry doing car swaps for local dealerships. Connell was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post 221 and a former member of the Nabnasset Lake Country Club. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and going to the Chelmsford Senior Center where he liked to Pinochle. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Nancy Dutney and her husband Dennis of Dracut and Joyce Bowker of Edgartown; three grandchildren, Charlene Rogers and her husband Devin of Dracut, Melanie Bettencourt and her husband Joshua of Dracut, and Greyson Bowker of Edgartown; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew, and Cadence; a brother, Donald Albertine of Maine; and many nieces and nephews. It being his wish there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Monday, May 7th at 12:30 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Connell name to the VA Boston Healthcare System, West Roxbury Campus, 1400 VFW Pkwy, West Roxbury, MA 02132.
