David L. O'Leary Obituary (2012)

CHELMSFORD-David L. OLeary, age 74, of Chelmsford, passed away unexpectedly following a battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (Donahue) OLeary and together they shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Arlington in 1938, he was the son of the late Warren and Alyce (Sweeney) OLeary. David was raised and educated in Arlington and was a 1956 graduate of Arlington High School. Following high school, David served three years in the Army. For 38 years, David was employed with Boston Edison, working as a lineman and fossil fuel mechanic. He has lived in Chelmsford for the last 48 years. Along with spending most of his time with family, he also loved the beach, politics, sports, and landscaping. In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by a daughter Caren OBrien and her husband Michael of Mason, NH; two sons, David L. OLeary, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Kingston, MA, and Brian J. OLeary and his wife Karen of Chelmsford; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Jacques of Saco, ME; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 oclock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
