Diane C. Lamprey

–

Lowell, Massachusetts

Diane C. (Giguere Mousseau) Lamprey, age 72, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lowell on October 31, 1953, and was the daughter of Florence (Chagnon) LaCedra of Ogunquit, ME, and the late Robert Giguere.

Diane was raised in Lowell’s Little Canada and Centralville neighborhoods, where she attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and later St. Louis Elementary School. She graduated as class valedictorian from St. Louis Academy in 1971 and was a longtime office manager at DeMoulas/Market Basket.

Like many children of the 1960s, Diane was stricken with Beatlemania and had an everlasting love of the band. Additionally, she loved listening to Barbra Streisand and enjoyed all things Snoopy. Later in life, Diane loved her television shows and became an avid follower of Dancing with the Stars, Project Runway, and American Horror Story. Above all else, though, she loved online shopping for her grandchildren and spoiling them for the holidays!

Diane is survived by her three children: Derek Mousseau and his wife, Angela, of North Andover, Jeremy Mousseau of Peabody, and Nicole (Lamprey) Mapes and her husband, Timothy Mapes, of Hopkinton; her seven grandchildren: Kylie Mousseau and her partner, William Schroeder, of Billerica, Nathan, William, and Nicholas Mousseau of North Andover, Evangeline and Jack Mousseau of Peabody; and Willow Mapes of Hopkinton; her two brothers: Robert Giguere and his wife, Karen, of Lowell, and Christopher LaCedra and his wife, Kimberly, of Tyngsboro; her stepfather, Paul LaCedra, of Ogunquit, ME; and her son-in-law, Jean Trudeau, of Lowell. She is also survived by her step siblings, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Diane was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer (Mousseau) Trudel, and her grandson, Noah Trudel.

Diane was a warm, caring, and engaging person who easily made lifelong friends throughout her life. Her children would like to thank all the family and friends who called, wrote, and visited during Diane’s short illness. The time spent with her meant more to Diane (and the family) than words can describe. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, who showed her love and compassion throughout her stay.

Memorial donations may be made in Diane’s memory to the Glioblastoma Foundation https://glioblastomafoundation.org/.
