Donna Marie Olson

Donna Marie (Mondello) Olson, 69, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, after a courageous journey through dementia at Stonehaven Senior Living in Fresno, CA, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cambridge on January 10, 1957, Donna was the beloved daughter of Robert and Loretta Mondello of Westford, MA. She was raised in Chelmsford as part of a large, close-knit family, and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School. She moved to California, where she built a career in office management.

Donna possessed a radiant smile that instantly brightened any space, paired with a genuinely kind spirit. A true creative, she rarely sat idle, pouring her heart into sewing, crafting, and cooking for her loved ones. Her profound love for nature was evident in the vibrant flowers she planted, carefully curated to welcome the hummingbirds she so admired.

She is survived by her three sons: Jason Penney and his wife Denise of Nashua, NH, Cory Lucas and his wife Kristy of Atlanta, GA, and Jordan Lucas of Nashville, TN. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren.

Donna is also survived by her siblings: Deborah Soby and her husband Michael of Londonderry, Laura Bourque and her husband Richard of N. Billerica, MA, Thomas Mondello of Chelmsford, MA, John Mondello of Leominster, MA, Robert Mondello of Fort Worth, TX, Richard Mondello and his wife Audrey of Montebello, NY, and her partner, Enrique Cantu of Fresno, CA. She will be deeply missed by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9am – 12pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donna’s name to the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org/.
