Dorothy L. Keefe

Dorothy L. (Evans) Keefe, age 86, a resident of Peabody, formerly a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Monday, August 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Keefe, Jr., with whom she enjoyed 42 years of marriage until his passing in 2007.

Born, in Everett on August 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Florence (Patterson) Evans.

Dotty started her career as a secretary and later raised four children as a stay-at-home mom. She spent twenty years as a snowbird in Delray Beach, FL. Dotty enjoyed golfing, walking daily, and attending shows. Spending time with the grandkids and friends, playing cards or Rummikub were highlights for her.

Dotty is survived by her children, Charles W. Keefe, III and his partner Norma Tsang of South Boston, MA, Daniel J. Keefe and his wife Wendy of Nashua, NH, Edward S. Keefe and his wife Blessed of Washington, DC, and Patricia A. Chadwick of Lincoln, RI. Nana had eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Matthew Sweet and his wife Emily, Charlie Sweet, John Sweet, Madeleine Keefe, Christopher Keefe, Annie Sweet, Nina Keefe, Grace Keefe, Adelaide Sweet, and Jane Sweet.

Dotty was the sister of the late James Evans.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11am at St. Mary's Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. Kindly meet at the church. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
