Edmond R. Roux Obituary (1942

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Edmond R. Roux on January 10, 2024. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife at his side. Ed was born in Lowell on September 24, 1942 to Clarence and Gertrude (Trudel) Roux. He graduated from Lowell High in 1961 and resided in Westford for the last 46 years. After graduation, Ed worked for Toupin Rigging, leaving there to go work at Polaroid for 35 years. In 1966, he married Patricia Brousseau. After her passing in 1973, he raised their three small children. In 1977, Ed married Germaine Dumont, with whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage this past April. He enjoyed snowmobiling, weekend camping in his motorhome with family, and spending time with his extended family and friends, especially at family cookouts. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved going to Mohegan Sun for their shows in the Wolf Den and seeing many of the entertainers from the 50s and 60s. He also collected antique cars and enjoyed going to cruise nights and car shows. He was a member of the Road Runners Car Club. In addition to his wife, Edmond is survived by his sons, Raymond and his wife Angela, and Robert Roux; his daughters, Paula Collins, Pamela Abdelmasih, and Patricia Roux; his brother, Donald Roux; and his grandsons, John Collins and his wife Anna, and Joseph, Logan, Sawyer, and Jasper Roux, whom he loved watching grow and spending time with. He is also survived by his goddaughters, CarolAnn Roux, and Carrie Ann Macomber; several nieces and nephews; his sisters-in-law, Monique Tremblay and her husband Ronald of ME, and Marie Beaulieu and her husband Roger of FL; and his first wifes siblings, Leo (Dianne) Brousseau, Michael Brousseau, Ann (Clayton) Dube, and Donna Brousseau. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Patricia; his brother, Raymond Roux; and his sister, Cecile Nichols. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 14th from 12pm to 2pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford followed by a service in the funeral home at 2:30pm. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edmonds memory may be made to St Judes Children Research Hospital at stjude.org or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at shrinerschildrens.org.
