Edmund T. "Ed" Meland Obituary (1940

Edmund Ed T. Meland, 83, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ann M. (Regan) Meland with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was born in New York, NY on July 27, 1940, and was the son of the late Trygve and Helga (Eriksson) Meland. Ed was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with family and his grandchildren. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage. He was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. In addition to his loving wife, Ed leaves his children, Edmund and his wife Sandra of Billerica, and Mark and his wife Alev of Izmir, Turkey; his grandchildren, Colleen, Craig, and Kyle; and his brother-in-law, John Regan and his wife Joanne. He also leaves cherished, longtime friends Carl and Marion Hohenstein of NH, along with many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents, his brother Ralph, his sister Nancy and her husband John Scussel, and his sister-in-law Mary (Regan) and her husband Thomas McCarthy. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, February 3, from 11am 1 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His funeral services and interment will be held privately.
