Edwin Albert Ramirez

Edwin A. Ed Ramirez, of West Yarmouth, passed away at home July 1, 2024, at the age of 91. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph E. and Mildred (Gould) Ramirez.

Ed grew up in Medford and went on to raise his family in Arlington for many years. He is survived by his loving wife Genevieve (ONeil) Ramirez to whom he has been married for 71 years; his daughters, Lisa Giacchetto of Tewksbury, and Susan Ramirez of Somerville; his sons, Robert Ramirez of Dunstable, and Steven Ramirez and his wife Pon of Lowell. He also is survived by his 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Sadly, he was predeceased by his brothers William Ramirez and Waren Ramirez.

Ed opened his business, Arlex Plumbing and Heating Supply Company in Arlington in 1960 and retired in 2005. Once retired he loved traveling cross country with his wife Gen in their Motor Home seeing exciting spectacular sights and animals. During the winter months, he enjoyed Floridas beaches and attractions with family and friends. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren always brought him great joy. Cape Cod summers would find Ed and the kids flying kites, fishing, racing go carts and giving driving lessons by Grampy.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 8, 2024,at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack St., Lowell. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment to follow in Lowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eds name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital at stjude.org.
