Eleanor E. Poor

Eleanor E. (Mulligan) Poor, age 84, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of James N. Poor with whom she enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 31, 1942, and was the daughter of the late John E. and Eleanor T. (Armstrong) Mulligan.

Eleanor was raised in Philadelphia, PA. She continued her education at the Chandler School of Business in Boston, MA. Eleanor and James settled in Chelmsford, MA in 1971, where they raised their family. She worked for Sears for over thirty years at both the Lowell and Nashua stores. Eleanor and her husband subsequently spent 16 years living in Harwich, MA before relocating back to Chelmsford in 2021. In her spare time, Eleanor enjoyed traveling with her husband and taking trips with friends to St. Maarten. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband, Eleanor leaves her children Karen Morin and her husband Barry of Hudson, NH, James Poor and his wife Susan of Chelmsford, John Poor of Chelmsford, and Jason Poor and his wife Jennifer of Chelmsford; her grandchildren Michael and Nicole Morin, Abigail, Nathan, Sarah, Eric, John, and Myla Poor; her sisters, Martha Gibbons and her husband Jeffrey of Hollis, NH, and Mary Mitchell and her husband Michael of Penndel, PA and her sister-in-law Michele Mulligan of Las Vegas, NV. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Sadly, she was predeceased by her bothers John “Jack” Mulligan and Michael Mulligan.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 4 – 7pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 11am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Kindly gather at the church. Interment to follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
