Elizabeth L. 'Betty' Silva Obituary (1931 - 2013)

CHELMSFORD Elizabeth L. Betty Silva, 81, of Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus after a period of declining health. She was born in Lowell on May 13, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Clark) Silva. Betty grew up in Lowell and was educated in Lowell schools. As a young woman she worked in the woolen mills, and later at Georges Pizza on Broadway Street in Lowell until her retirement in 1991. She was an active member of the Lowell First Church of the Nazarene. Betty loved cooking for her family and friends, and church camp. Betty leaves her best friend and sister Eleanor Wheeler, her extended family Michael and Marsha Wheeler of Hanover and their families, and her daughter-in-law Bonnie (Smith) Silva. She also leaves several nieces and nephews; Dorothy Howard and her husband Donald of Chelmsford, Margie Hughes of North Carolina, Dawn Ehst and her husband Merle of Bourne, MA, Lois Heath and her husband Mike of Chelmsford, Myra Sands of Alabama, and Paul Rheaume, Jr. and his wife Erma of Cornish, NH and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Jim Silva who died in October 2009, her sister Dorothy Rheaume and her husband Paul, sister Glenna Wampler and her husband Reuel, brother Paul Silva and his wife Marilyn, nephew Joseph Rheaume, and niece Barbara Reynolds. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 oclock at the Lowell First Church of the Nazarene, 1195 Varnum Ave., Lowell. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
