Emmanuel 'Manny' Kakis Obituary (1947 - 2013)

CHELMSFORD Emmanuel Manny Kakis, 65, a resident of Chelmsford passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Concord Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Hachey) Kakis. He was born on July 25, 1947 and was a son of the late Catherine (Sturges) Kakis. Manny was a veteran of the United States Air Force having been stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. His entire working career was spent as a truck driver, retiring from Shell Oil Corp where his CB radio handle was The Greek. Manny was an avid sports fan especially the Patriots and Red Sox. In addition to his wife, Manny is survived by his son Emmanuel Kakis, III of Chelmsford, two brothers; John Kakis and his wife Mae of Woburn, Nicholas Kakis of Burlington, a sister, Marion Young of Westford, and several nieces. Visiting hours on Monday 4 to 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 oclock at Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell. Interment in Heart Pond Cemetery, Chelmsford.
