Ethel J. (Adams) Rose, 92, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chelmsford, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert M. Rose with whom she shared 38 years of marriage until his passing in 1989.
She was born in Orange, MA on June 14, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Field) Adams.
Ethel graduated from Lowell High School. She worked at Market Basket and also at Raytheon before dedicating her later years to childcare, where she lovingly babysat for many families. She found joy and community as a dedicated member of the Central Congregational Church. Ethel had a creative spirit and enjoyed working on antique furniture and woodworking projects.
Her family and friends were her world. She adored her grandchildren, creating cherished memories with them, especially during their summer beach camping trips. Helping others was her passion. A natural caretaker, she never hesitated to lend a hand, even to strangers. Her wonderful sense of humor and beautiful heart brought smiles to so many faces.
Ethel leaves her daughter Angela Rose Burrill of Amesbury; her grandchildren Christopher Steven Socia of Londonderry and Lisa Marie Libby and her husband Christopher Wayne Libby of Londonderry; her great grandson Christian Libby; her siblings Shirley Alger and Albert Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10 am in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
