Evangelia Stergiou Obituary (1930

LOWELL- Evangelia Stergiou was born on August 25th, 1930 in Yianaika, Arkadia to Vasili and Eleni Bletsis. At the age of 24, she moved to Athens, Greece to work. Shortly after moving to Athens, she married Petros Stergiou of Penteli. Evangelia and Petros have two children, Christos and Anastasia. After living in Penteli for ten years, the family immigrated to Lowell on August 18, 1969. Evangelia is a devout Greek Orthodox Christian and created a welcoming home at 14 Butterfield Street. Putting those around her first always, her accomplishment to guide and love those who she touched will remain her lasting legacy. Evangelia is survived by her husband, Petros, her son, Christos and his wife Ana Maria, her daughter Anastasia and her husband Christos, and her six grandchildren Evangelia 27, Petros 24, Katerina 20, Nikoletta 19, Spyrydon 19, Evagelia 17, her siblings Stella, Christos, Giorgios, and Konstantina, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Evangelia, believed in the goodness of humanity and lived every day of her life selflessly with unconditional love for everyone. Na eisastai oli kala Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 until 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11 am at St. Georges Greek Orthodox Church, 44 Princeton Blvd., Lowell. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Westlawn II Cemetery, Lowell.
