Frances R. Guaraldi

CHELMSFORD Frances R. (OBrien) Guaraldi, 89, a resident of Chelmsford since 1948, passed away peacefully at DYouville Senior Care in Lowell in the company of her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edmund F. Guaraldi, Sr. who died in 2004.

She was born in Boston on July 7, 1923 and was a daughter of the late John J. OBrien, Sr. and Anna (Madden) OBrien.

Frances was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting and handcrafts. She and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively visiting a variety of countries. She was a communicant of St. Mary Parish. Most important to Frances was her family and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Frances is survived by three daughters; Elizabeth Mercier and her husband Emile of Danvers, Regina Bigda and her husband Stan of Westford, Ellen Sturtevant and her husband Ronald of Westford, and two sons; Edmund F. Guaraldi, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Chelmsford, and Richard G. Guaraldi and his wife Holly of Dunstable, 9 grandchildren; Alison Matalanis, Erica Kooistra, Regina Dixon, and Ronald and Richard Sturtevant, Kara and Krista Guaraldi, and Richard and Alexander Guaraldi, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen McCormick of Florida. She was predeceased by her brothers, James and John OBrien.

Visitation will take place on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 oclock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
