Gaetana Barna Obituary (1932 - 2015)

CHELMSFORD Gaetana (Itrato) Barna, 82, a resident of Chelmsford since 1964, was called home to be with Our Lord and Savior on Monday, April 6, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Barna who died in 1974. She was born in Boston on June 7, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Sylvestro and Concetta (DArrigo) Itrato. She was raised in the North End of Boston. Being widowed at a young age, Gaetana devoted her life tending to the needs of her home and family. Gaetana is survived by her daughters; Christine Barna of Chelmsford and Concetta Knapp and her husband Richard of Pepperell, son Joseph Barna of Methuen, brothers Joseph Itrato of Tewksbury and Peter Itrato of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Frank Barna who died in 1987, mother-in-law of the late Lilly Barna who died in 2014, and sister of the late Gracie Marino. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Blake Funeral Home 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 oclock at St. Mary Parish 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Circle Health, Inc., 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852.
