Gregory J. "Greg" Powers, age 73, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at Tufts Medical Center, Boston on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Rockford, Illinois on February 13, 1952, and was the son of the late James R. and Patricia L. (Doherty) Powers.
Greg's greatest joy was being around his family, including many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He also reveled in his Irish Catholic heritage and was able to make a trip to Ireland (with his father Jim) in 1980. He also enjoyed new technology and had an active social media presence.
In his youth, he was active in sports with his brother Dan, especially football and baseball, and later in life enjoyed running, and competing (and winning his age class!) in the Lowell Marathon.

McGee of Dracut; his nieces and nephews Kristen (Kelley) Donahue and Jeff Kelley, Jenna Powers and Alanna (Powers) Maley, and Philip McGee, Evan McGee, and Breanna (McGee) O'Toole.
