Haworth C. Neild

ORLANDO, FL - HAWORTH C. NEILD, 88, a former Chelmsford resident, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Winter Park Memorial Hospital surrounded by family members. He was the husband of Eleanor (Riddick) Neild who predeceased him in December 2000.

Born in Lowell on July 22, 1924, he was the son of the late Charles T. Neild and Martha (Haworth) Neild.

A veteran of WWII who fought in North Africa and Italy, Mr. Neild was a retiree from New England Telephone, a member of the William North Lodge of the Masons, a member of the Matthews Memorial Primitive Methodist Church in Chelmsford, a past officer of the Chelmsford Boosters Club and an early participant in the Chelmsford Recreation Commission. Howie enjoyed his long retirement and always looked forward to socializing with family and friends.

Survivors include four sons; Howie Neild of Chelmsford, Bruce and Roger Neild of Westford, and Chuck Neild of Litchfield, NH; two daughters; Sherry Neild of Stoneham, and Lisa Jones of Orlando; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 oclock at Matthews Memorial Primitive Methodist Church, 128 Gorham St., Chelmsford. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Interment in Fairview Cemetery, North Chelmsford.
