Heather E Brown Obituary (1940 - 2015)

CHELMSFORD Heather Edith (James) Brown, 74, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away unexpectedly while visiting family in Scotland. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Brown who passed away in 2005. She was born in Troy, NY on October 28, 1940 and was the daughter of the late William and Edith (Snell) James, Jr. She grew up in Billerica and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School with the Class of 1958. As a young woman she worked for Medical Associates in Chelmsford and later in life enjoyed working with and for some close family friends. Above all, Heather was a proud and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. After raising her own children, she cared for her grandchildren at her self-proclaimed Granny Daycare. She relished in every facet of their lives, especially enjoying birthday dinners, sporting events, family parties and her annual grandparent camp week at Oceanwood. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church in Chelmsford where she was Chair of the Diaconate and a member of the Womens Fellowship. Heather had a deep faith in God which she expressed through kindness and love. After her husbands passing, Heather and her children founded the Brown Family Scholarship Fund which benefits students in both Chelmsford and Billerica. Heather is survived by her loving children; Robert F. Brown, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Chelmsford, James C. Brown and his wife Tracy of Sudbury, Susan H. Sullivan and her husband Keith of Holden, and Sandra M. Rega and her husband Andrew of Chelmsford; 13 grandchildren; Robert III, William, Campbell, and Thomas Brown, Brandon, Nicholas, and Courtney Brown, Brianna, Shane, and Justin Sullivan, and Katrina, Allison, and Owen Rega; a brother Ronald James and his wife Janice of Stoddard, NH; her cousin Maureen and her husband David Moorehouse of Tyngsboro; and her extended family both in the US and across the pond. Visiting hours Sunday, August 9 from 2 to 7 at Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her Funeral Service will be held at 10 oclock on Monday, August 10th at Central Baptist Church, 9 Academy St., Chelmsford. Interment to follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
