Dr. James A. Sciaretta D.M.D.

Dr. James A. Sciaretta, D.M.D, 81, a prominent orthodontist in Billerica, a resident of Nashua, NH, formerly of Westford, passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol Ann (Larson) Sciaretta with whom he shared nearly 37 years of marriage until her passing in 2019.

He was born in Hartford, CT on October 19, 1944, and was the son of the late Armand and Concetta (Bonadies) Sciaretta.

He attended Boston University and graduated in 1966. He received his D.M.D. degree from Rutgers University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1970. He then received his master’s degree in Orthodontics in 1972 from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry.

Dr. Sciaretta opened his orthodontic practice in Billerica in 1972 and continued his practice for over the next 40 years. He loved working with his patients and families. He was a long-time supporter of many town activities, including sponsoring his own little league baseball team the “Pirates”.

Dr. Sciaretta loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays, and enjoyed relaxing and tending to his many flower gardens.

Dr. Sciaretta leaves his stepdaughter Kristen Maloomian and her husband William of Groton; his four grandchildren, Michael (Siamara) Fahy, Lindsay (Matt) Bevilacqua, Mark Maloomian, and Lauren Maloomian; and his newborn great-granddaughter Gemma Bevilacqua.

In addition to his loving wife Carol, Dr. Sciaretta was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Joan Patterson and Diane Michaud, his stepson Kurt Molleur, his stepdaughter Kathy Fahy, and his beloved dog, Stewart.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9am – 11am at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His graveside service will follow the visitation in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford at 11:30am.
