Josephine Clark Obituary (1920 - 2014)

CHELMSFORD - Josephine Clark, 94, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, died on Monday, May 5, 2014 following a brief illness. Born March 2, 1920 in Malden, Massachusetts, she was the youngest child of Bronislaw and Amelia (Gurska) Niemczyk. She grew up in and around Boston and its suburbs. Following their parents' deaths in 1923 and 1927, she was separated for a time from her siblings Roman, Stanley, and Mary, only to be reunited with them thanks to a chance meeting on the streets of Cambridge. She met her husband, Earl Davis Clark, while working as a mother's helper on Cape Cod in the late 1930s, marrying him in 1939. They moved to Chelmsford in the early 1940s, where they raised their four children. Josephine worked for a time at Educated Crackers in Lowell and Jack's Diner in Chelmsford Center before retiring and devoting her time to family and friends. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Judy and Frank Lynch, Carol Sargent, Earl and Susan Clark, and Debbie Clark; her grandchildren and their spouses, Cindy and Bob Thibeault, Robin Lynch and her partner Bill Dantuono, April and Russ Dupuis, Rena and Matthew Caron, Roy and Ashley Sargent, Chris and Stephanie Clark, John Clark, Mike McKelvey and his fiance Kristy Rocca, Melissa McKelvey, and Derek McKelvey; her great-grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Ken Barnhart, Paul Caristi, Jamie Thibeault, Bradley Dupuis, Scott Dupuis, Jackson Sargent, Kaylee Clark, and Melody Clark; and her great-great-grandchildren, Kylie Barnhart, Payton Barnhart, and Brooke Barnhart. She will also be remembered by a vast extended family, including friends and in-laws who, while not related by blood, didn't think twice about calling her Ma. Relatives and friends may call at Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 oclock also at the Blake Funeral Home. Josephine will be laid to rest in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
