Kathleen C. 'Connie' Gaffney Obituary (1932 - 2018)

Mrs. Kathleen "Connie" Constance (ONeill) Gaffney of Chelmsford, MA formerly of Naples, FL and Falmouth, MA passed away on March 15, 2018 in Chelmsford, MA. Born in Cambridge, MA on January 14, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Anna and Willard ONeill. She was married to the late Richard Dick Paul Gaffney who passed away in 2010. Connie and Dick raised their family in Chelmsford, MA and summered in Falmouth, MA at their home affectionately known as The Gathering where family and friends would enjoy the beach, boating, cookouts and golfing. They eventually retired to the wonderful community of Glen Eagle in Naples, FL where they met many wonderful people with whom they shared their golden years. She was a member of St Marys Church and an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan. Connie will be remembered as an independent, fun loving and generous woman who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Willard O'Neill and sisters, Mary ONeill, Anna Wilk RN and Rita Kretzman. She is survived by brother John ONeill and many nieces and nephews including Bobby and Peachy White and their children, Jennifer and Patrick, of Henrico, Virginia. Connie will be dearly missed by daughters Debbie, RN (John) Holmes of Plymouth, MA (formerly of Chelmsford), Kathleen Gaffney of Laguna Niguel, CA, Colleen (Stephen) Tuson of Falmouth, MA and son Richard Gaffney Jr. (Leah) of Chelmsford, MA., grandchildren Kelly and Jack Holmes Jr., Anna and Allison Fyffe, Stephen and Ashley Tuson, Richard, Kate and Madeleine Gaffney and great grandchildren Stephen Tuson and Cora Glass. The family would like to give special thanks to our Moms care givers; Dr. Tushar Patel and the wonderful staff at Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Chelmsford Crossings Assisted Living. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 5, 2018 from 6 until 8 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 6th at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford, MA. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
