Kevin Michael Cody Sr. Obituary (1948

Kevin M. Cody - of Chelmsford, formerly of Woburn, died peacefully, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the age of seventy-seven after a courageous and hard fought two year health battle. Born and raised in Woburn, Kevin was the loving son of the late John and Alice (Young) Cody. A graduate of Woburn High School, Kevin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Kevin later earned his Associates Degree from East Coast Aero Tech following his service. A natural salesman and friend to all, Kevin spent the majority of his career in sales - making friends, building relationships and throwing in the occasional one-liner. Towards the end of his professional career, Kevin served as the Veterans Agent for the town of Chelmsford. Kevin loved to visit his children and grandkids, attend their ball games, or simply enjoy the outdoors - he often awaited a perfect sunny day to take his motorcycle for a ride, and a stop at Kimballs for some ice cream on the way home was a given. A car enthusiast at an early age, his affinity of cars and all things automotive spanned further than his love of his convertibles, Volvos, and his MG. Always up for the challenge, Kevin spent countless hours fixing (and occasionally breaking) car after car. He was truly a jack of all trades. Kevins favorite things in life revolved around his family. For many years, he spent his weekends with Bunny on their boat on Lake Winnipesaukee with family and friends. He was also very supportive of and devoted to his children and grandkids - attending and cheering them on at hundreds of games, recitals, plays, and competitions. He truly loved to see them succeed and could not have been more proud. Kevin will be sorely missed by those that knew and loved him. His wit, positivity, and ability to light up a room with a smile or joke will never be forgotten. He was the cherished partner of Eleanor Bunny Hedlund for more than thirty years, the devoted father of Kevin Cody and his wife Tina of Edgartown, Justin Cody of Chelmsford, and Ryan Cody and his wife Lynn of Worcester; the beloved Papa of Lyra Cody-Little, Caelainn and Jack Cody, Katie and Tommy Klesat, and Chris and Andrew Barbanti; and the dear brother of Carolyn Parrish of Woburn. He is also survived by his partners daughters - Jennifer and Keith Klesat of Flemington, New Jersey, and Kendra and Chris Barbanti of Chelmsford, and many nieces and nephews. Sadly, he was predeceased by his siblings, Alicia McCarron, Joanne Cody, John Cody, and Bill Cody. Relatives and friends are invited to Kevins farewell on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. Calling hours will be held from 9 am-11am followed by a remembrance service.
