Chelmsford, Massachusetts
Lawrence (Larry) Francis Pelosi passed away on April 9th, 2018 in Chelmsford, MA. Born on July 17th, 1947, Larry grew up in East Boston, son of the late Angelo Pelosi and Katherine (OBrien) Pelosi.
Larry was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Air Force. After his service, he went on to become a dedicated and courageous Boston firefighter for thirty-eight years. Even after his retirement as a firefighter on June 30th, 2009, Larry continued to stay active with Veterans Affairs and the Liars Club.
Larry brought his kindness, compassion and sense of humor to everyone he met and in everything he did. The phrase He would give you the shirt right off his back was often said in reference to Larry who would do anything for anyone, and his generosity touched all those who came in contact with him. His story and joke telling, no matter what the content, be it clean or slightly off-color, would never fail to make others laugh or cry and will never be forgotten. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan who never missed watching a game and couldnt relax until they were up by at least ten runs.
Larrys enduring passion was for his family. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 32 years, Leila (Daigle) Pelosi and their three daughters and spouses, Katherine Hoeber and her husband, Brian of Oakland, CA, Julia Shea-Pelosi and her wife, Laura of Windsor, VT, and Samantha Pelosi and her husband Brian Lesniak of Somerville, MA. He was Pops to a beautiful grandson whom he loved to the moon and back, Grover Lawrence Shea-Pelosi. He is further survived by his siblings Vito, John, Marguerite, Katherine and Richard and their families. He also leaves his parents-in-law Catherine and Normand Daigle, sisters-in-law Linda and Marie and brother-in-law David and their families, and his close friend Jimmy.
There must have been a fire up in heaven and he needed to go.
