Leonard E. Westgate Obituary (1938 - 2018)

Leonard E. Westgate, recently of Tyngsboro and Cambridge, and former longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Tufts Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Evangeline C. "Angie" (Boudrias) Westgate who died in 1998. He was born in Wareham on August 4, 1938 and was a son of the late Bernard C. and Melissa (Barnes) Westgate. Leonard was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge Technical School. He earned an Associate's Degree from Wentworth Institute and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Northeastern University. He was employed as a Packaging Design Engineer at Polaroid Corporation for 37 years. Leonard was an avid member of the Tyngsboro Country Club where he participated in the Senior Golf League. He enjoyed participating in the bowling league at Brunswick Lanes in Lowell and was a member of the Knickerbocker Club in Lowell. Leonard joined the Chelmsford High School Booster Club in 1984, serving as President from 1988-1992. Leonard is survived by his daughters Tracey Heim and her husband Robert "Bob" of San Antonio, Melissa "Missie" Reynolds and her husband Paul of Chelmsford and Kristin Donovan and her husband Clint of Tyngsboro, and four grandchildren; Zachary "Zach" Reynolds, Suzanne "Suzie" Reynolds, Macguire "Mac" Donovan and Logan Donovan. He also leaves a brother Bernard and his wife Nita Westgate of Arkansas, a brother-in-law Kenneth Wright of Wareham, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Ellen Wright. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 pm followed by visiting hours from 3 to 7 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation P.O. Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502, or to Tufts University School of Medicine, P.O.
