Maria Ciulla Obituary (1951 - 2016)

LOWELL Maria (Soares) Ciulla, 64, passed away on February 29, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Charles H. Ciulla. She was born in Azores, Portugal on October 29, 1951 and was a daughter of the late John L. and Otilia (Tavares) Soares. Maria immigrated to Lowell at the age of 16. She later moved to Toronto, Canada where she lived for 25 years before returning to Lowell many years ago. Maria worked for Park Lane Jewelers where she was a very successful saleswoman, receiving many awards for her accomplishments during her distinguished career. She enjoyed making crafts and used her creative skills to create beautiful, handmade gifts for her family and friends. Maria was a social butterfly, but most of all, her husband Charlie, her daughter Belinda, and her three grandchildren were her life and she treasured her time spent with them. In addition to her husband, Maria leaves her daughter, Belinda Mary Kilberg of Dracut; grandchildren; Kristyanna of Dracut, Reilly of Ashby, and Arianna of Dracut; her siblings; Zelia Mollica and her husband Anthony of CA, Fatima Lima of Raynham, Maria Lurdes Lopes of Raynham, John Soares and his wife Marcy of Peabody, Margaret Dias and her husband Joseph of Tewksbury, Peter Soares and his wife Fernanda of Salem, NH, and Richard Soares of Lowell, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jesse Soares. Visitation on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:30 am at St. Anthony Parish, 893 Central St., Lowell. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
