Marion M. Stanley Obituary (1923 - 2018) - Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Marion M. (Mitchell) Stanley, 94, a longtime Chelmsford resident passed away peacefully on Sunday February 25, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Neal C. Stanley in 2014. Born in Lowell on December 16, 1923, she was a daughter of the late William and Ella (Hood) Mitchell. Marion was a loving mother and devoted much of her time to raising her children. She and Neal hosted many summer parties pool side in Chelmsford and at their summer home on Lake Winnesquam. She was an avid Bridge player and was a member of the Open Gate Garden Club. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. Marion is survived by her children and their spouses, Neal C. Stanley II and Kathleen McDermott of Chelmsford, Heather and Robert Ricard of Hollis, NH; her grandchildren, Marissa Ricard and Kasey McDermott- Stanley; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Raymond and Shirley Mitchell of Dracut, Robert Mitchell of Lowell; and her beloved cats, Sophie and Fatty. She was the grandmother of the late Cameron Ricard and sister of the late William "Sonny" Mitchell, Carol "Snookie" Preston and Patricia O'Neill. It being her wish, visitation has been omitted and a Celebration of Life will be held at the beach this spring.
