Marjorie Ruth Semple

CHELMSFORD - Semple, Marjorie Ruth, 92, a longtime Chelmsford resident and Chelmsford school teacher, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Inn at Fairview in Hudson, NH.

She was born in Lowell on June 4, 1925 and was a daughter of the late Alan R. Semple, Sr. and Margaret Ruth (Strange) Semple.

Marjorie earned her Bachelor's Degree from Lowell State Teacher's College in 1948. She attended Boston University and earned her Master's Degree in Education from Rivier College in 1967. Marjorie taught in the Chelmsford Public Schools for 42 years first at the Westlands School and later at South Row. She dedicated her life to teaching the students of Chelmsford. Marjorie enjoyed traveling and saw much of the world. She was captivated by the Royal Family and followed their latest news in Hello Magazine. Marjorie liked cats, bags and QVC Shopping where they knew her by her first name.

Marjorie is survived by her son Alan R. Semple, III and his wife Suzanne of Litchfield, NH, two granddaughters; Victoria Neault and her husband William Jr. of Litchfield, NH and Tiffany Sousa and her husband Manuel, Jr. of Hudson, NH and three great-grandchildren; Gabrielle, Brody, and Breanna. Marjorie is also survived by her sister-in-law Judith Semple of Punta Gorda, FL and her children Jon and Jay Semple. She was the brother of the late Alan R. Semple, Jr. who passed away only days after Marjorie.

A private funeral service was held at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford followed by interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
