Mildred May "Millie" Edwards

Mildred Millie loved her family and her church.

Mildred Millie M. (McCausland) Edwards, age 88, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at DYouville Senior Care on Saturday, October 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Hank E. Edwards with whom she enjoyed 48 years of marriage before his passing in 2004.

She was born in Lowell on November 20, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mildred (Jones) McCausland.

Millie was a lifetime member of First United Baptist Church of Lowell where she met her husband Hank. She was a graduate of Lowell High class of 1952 and Katherine Gibbs College. Upon graduation, she was employed at General Electric before moving on to her greatest accomplishment, raising her family. She spent many summers visiting family in Prince Edward Island, Canada. In her later years she found sanctuary surrounded by nature sitting in her rocking chair on her back porch. Millie enjoyed chatting on the phone and visiting with her many friends and neighbors. Her positive spirit will be missed by many.

Mildred leaves her children, Pamela Bell and her husband Charles of Northampton, Bryan Edwards and his wife Wanda of Groton, Bruce Edwards and his wife Tracey of Tyngsboro, and Ruth Stilianos and her husband Scott of Hayes, VA; her grandchildren, Amanda (Zach) Wissman, Keith Bell, Michael (Rutendo) Bell, Kristy (Rick) Bouchie, Todd Bussey, Amy (Tom) Zahareas, Greg (Fabio) Edwards Costa, Steven Stilianos (fianc Madelynne Wahrmund), Amanda (Luke) Noble, Christian Edwards, Meghan (Tony) DeSalvo, Lindsey (Shawn) Snow, and Kaitlyn Saba; 23 great grandchildren; her Godchild Jay McQuade; and many cousins.

Mildred was predeceased by her brothers, Fredrick Freddie McCausland, and Roger McCausland, her sister, Jane McCausland, and her very special cousin, Betty Haywood.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 4 7 pm in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10 am. Interment to follow in West Chelmsford Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Baptist Church of Lowell Memorial Fund, 99 Church St., Lowell, MA 01852 or fubc.org.
