Normand A. Labrecque Obituary (1942 - 2024)

Normand A. Labrecque, 81, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jean W. (Wilder) Labrecque with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He was born in Berlin, NH, on July 11, 1942, and was the son of the late Lucien and Laurentia (Roy) Labrecque. Normand was raised in Berlin, NH, joined the US Army from January 1964 November 1966, and graduated from University of New Hampshire (1969). His career spanned over 3 decades in nuclear power engineering working for Framatome, Areva, Duke Energy, United Engineers, and Yankee. While raising his four children, Normand was involved in town politics and known as Mr. Town Meeting. He enjoyed coaching youth soccer for his childrens teams. After retirement, he golfed daily at Chelmsford Country Club for many years, enjoyed bowling, performed extensive research on genealogy, and enjoyed many vacations with his wife Jean. In addition to his loving wife, Normand leaves his children, Bill Labrecque and his wife Megan of N. Providence, RI, Amy Henriques and her husband Jay of Seattle, WA, Lucien Labrecque and his wife Emily of Chelmsford, and Pete Labrecque and his wife Kelly of Austin, TX; his cherished grandchildren, Audrey Henriques, Hudson Henriques, Esther Labrecque, Lucy Labrecque, Agatha Labrecque, Edwin Labrecque, Lyric Labrecque, Lelan Labrecque and Lake Labrecque; his sisters, Breck Linda Labrecque and Claudette Chase and her husband Dale; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Labrecque. Normand is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Labrecque and Louis Labrecque. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 3 6 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 15, at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Heart Pond Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Friends of the Library, Chelmsford Public Library, 25 Boston Rd, Chelmsford, MA 01824.
