Patricia G. McMahon Obituary (1945 - 2014)

GROTON Patricia G. (Bowman) McMahon, 68, a resident of Groton and former, longtime resident of Merrimack, NH passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Lowell on April 3, 1945, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Brady) McMahon. She was a graduate of The Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, class of 1963. Prior to her retirement, Patricia was employed for 20 years as a payroll accountant at UMASS Lowell. She had also worked for many years as a secretary at St. Josephs Church in Pepperell. In recent years she was a personal shopper and stylist. In her free time she enjoyed reading, vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine, and spending time in the company of her family and friends, especially her adoring grandchildren. Patricias favorite saying was It takes more facial muscles to pout than to smile. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Paul Osenar of Groton; her three grandchildren, Torin, Zemzem, and Cade; two sisters, Mary Marley and her husband Thomas of Townsend and Catherine Hopf and her husband Kenneth of Concord, NH; two brothers, Joseph McMahon and his wife Carolyn of Contoocook, NH and Kevin McMahon of Penacook, NH; her cousin and close friend, Judy Evans of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joanne Grenier. Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Saturday, January 11, 2014, from 1 until 4 pm. Her Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 3 pm, at First Church Unitarian, 19 Foster St., Littleton, MA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricias name to Adbar Ethiopian Womens Alliance, 1151 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138.
