Patricia A Sousa Obituary (1940 - 2015)

Patricia A. (Nordin) Sousa, 75, a longtime Chelmsford resident passed away on Monday October 26, 2015, after a long illness at the Palm Center in Chelmsford surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lowell on October 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late E. Mauritz Nordin and Gladys (Wright) Nordin Patricia was educated in Chelmsford, graduating Chelmsford High School in 1958. While at CHS, she was an outstanding athlete having played basketball, softball, field hockey and was a member of the Lions cheer squad. After having children Patricia attended Lowell Tech for her nursing license. She was employed as a nurse for decades and had a true passion for the care of her patients. She loved animals, particularly horses and had a vast collection of horse memorabilia. Pat was a true New England sports fan. Patricia is survived by her children, Robin L. Deschene and her husband, Ray of Litchfield, NH; James E. Sousa, Jr. of Chelmsford; Stephen M. Sousa and his wife, Anna of Hopedale, MA; her former spouse, James E. Sousa and his wife, Ruth Mack Sousa of Chelmsford; her grandchildren, Keith Deschene and his wife, Nina; Scott Deschene, Amy Deschene; Julian, Ethan and Alexandra Sousa; and a great granddaughter, Emma Deschene. A visitation will be held on Sunday November 1, 2015 from 3 until 5 PM at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11 oclock in St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd, Chelmsford. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
