Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, on May 22, 1934, Paul was the son of the late Paul William Russo, Sr. and Eleanor G. (Kelly) Russo. He was raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where he excelled as a varsity football and baseball player at Wellesley High School before completing a postgraduate year at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire.

Paul went on to graduate from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. While at Trinity, he played both football and baseball and was a member of the Bantams teams that achieved back-to-back undefeated seasons in 1954 and 1955.

Following college, Paul built a long and successful career as an Outside Sales Representative with Edgcomb Steel, where he worked until his retirement in 1999.
A devoted sports fan, Paul enjoyed following all Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox and Patriots

More than anything, he cherished the time he spent with Helen, his loving wife of 68 years, their children, grandchildren, and extended family. Whether at their home in Chelmsford or on Cape Cod in West Harwich, Paul brought warmth, optimism, and steady encouragement to those around him. He had a remarkable ability to see the good in every situation, meet life's challenges with grace, and make others feel supported and valued. His positive outlook, quiet strength, and unwavering love for family defined his life and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was truly the rock of the family—strong, dependable, and always guided by gratitude and hope.
