Polly Zouzas Obituary (1923 - 2021)

Pauline Polly (Petrakos) Zouzas, 98, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Zouzas with whom she shared 30 years of marriage until his passing in 1975. Polly was born in Lowell on October 29, 1923 and was the loving daughter of the late Nicholas and Georgia (Siliotas) Petrakos and one of nine brothers and sisters. Polly was raised in Lowell, MA and graduated from Lowell High School. After graduating from Lowell High school, she assisted the WWII efforts at the Ammunition plant making silk parachutes for the war effort. Later she graduated from Beautician School and worked as a hairdresser until her 85th birthday. Polly loved to crochet and made many blankets and hats and donated them to various charities: hospitals, churches, childrens homes, to the elderly, and to the USAF soldiers and families, She loved shopping and would love to go for long car rides while listening to Tom Jones, Perry Como and Dean Martin (to name a few). She loved sharing the holidays with her family, and she was known for her delicious Greek cooking, especially her Pita, a Greek spinach pie, where she hid the silver dollar every New Years Day. Polly leaves her daughters; Catherine Curtis and her husband Theodore of Merrimack, NH, and Themoula Poirier and her husband Lucien of Chelmsford MA, her grandchildren; Stephanie Tymula and her husband Christopher and Pollys great-grandchild Christopher; grandson James Curtis and his wife Melissa with a great-grandson Charles, and her grandson David Charles Rodrigues. Polly is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sadly, she was predeceased by her two daughters; Georgia Zouzas (2014) and Helen Rodrigues (2004).
