Raymond Robert Kydd Obituary (1946 - 2011)

CHELMSFORD Raymond R. Kydd, 65, a longtime resident of Chelmsford and North Chelmsford died Wednesday, December 14th at his home peacefully, following a brief battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Elaine M. (Johnson) Kydd, to whom he was married for 38 years. He was born in Lowell on November 14, 1946 and was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Leslie (Gilchrist) Kydd. He received his education in Chelmsford schools and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School. Ray served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for 28 years as a firefighter for the Town of Chelmsford. Ray was a member of the Nabnasset Lake Country Club in Westford and the North Chelmsford American Legion Post 313. In his free time he was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching all the local Boston sports teams and golf. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kyle Kydd and his fianc Nicole McCormick of Billerica and Timothy Kydd of Hampton, NH; four grandchildren, Lily, Aria, Chloe, and Kaleb; his brother David Kydd and his wife Barrie of Bethesda, MD; his mother-in-law, Norma Johnson of Texas; a brother-in-law, Ralph Cusano of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Donald Kydd and Marilyn Cusano. Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Friday from 4 until 8pm. His Funeral Service will be held at the Congregational Church in North Chelmsford, 15 Princeton St. on Saturday at 10 oclock. Please meet at church.
