Richard W "Dick" Bartlett Obituary (1927

Richard W. "Dick" Bartlett, 90, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 25, 2018 following a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late June (Ball) Bartlett, to whom he was married for 57 years. Born in Beverly, MA on September 23, 1927, Sonny was the son of Richard H. and Elsie (Woodberry) Bartlett. He was predeceased by his younger brother, John. Dick graduated from Beverly High School in 1945. He served honorably in the Navy from 1945 to 1952 as an aviation electronics technician. He moved to Chelmsford in 1961 and worked for many years at AVCO as a technician, testing missile guidance systems and heat shields. He worked at Bald Peak Colony Club in NH and retired from Sentry Insurance in Concord, MA after 15 years as a maintenance engineer. An outdoorsman at heart, Dick loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid golfer after retirement. He could build and repair most anything he encountered. Dick was fascinated by genealogy and found much joy in reading, especially about history and the Civil War era. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Richard E. Bartlett and his wife, Stephanie Kwandrans of Tyngsboro, MA, Kathy Mayo and her husband, David of Boxborough, MA, Lori Wolkin and her husband, Thomas of Pembroke, NH; grandchildren, Reese Wolkin and Kelli Robinson of Concord, NH, Hallie Wolkin and Bennett Altavilla of Jeffersonville, VT, Jillian Mayo and her fianc, Scott Reed of Sherman Oaks, CA, Matthew Mayo of NH; three great grandchildren, Ronin, Ryker and Kincade; a sister, Jean Cail of FL and nephews Steven, Robert, and John. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 4, 2018 from 5 until 8 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD, MA 01824. Interment will be held privately.
