Richard S. 'Ritchie' Bujnowski Obituary (1938

N.CHELMSFORD - Richard S. Bujnowski, 73, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, died Friday, August 12th at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Shirley P. (Belleville) Bujnowski, to whom he was married for 52 years. He was born in Lowell on June 15, 1938, and he was the son of the late Stanley and Delia Bujnowski. He received his education in Chelmsford schools and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School, class of 1956. Ritchie continued to live in his hometown of Chelmsford in the house that he built in 1960 where he and Shirley raised their family. He was employed as an operating engineer for 50 years and was a proud member of the IUOE Local 4 . He retired in 2002. Ritchie thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and was always very active. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was particularly fond of traveling with his wife and best friend Shirley to vacation destinations such as Aruba, Hawaii and Alaska as well as road trips in his R.V. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Rick Bujnowski and his wife Peg of Salem, NH, Mark Bujnowski of Plaistow, NH, and Kevin Bujnowski and his wife Marcie of Hudson, NH; six grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Bryan, Adam, Triston, and Kayla. Also his sister in law Carol Curran and her husband James, Judith Nawoj and her husband John, brother-in-law Arthur Perry husband of his late sister Pauline and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Monday from 4 until 8pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
