Robert G. Massey

Robert G. Massey, 64, passed away on March 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Cudd) Massey, with whom he enjoyed 40 years of marriage.

Born in Lawrence, MA on September 15, 1959, he was the son of the late George W. and Cecile B. (Viger) Massey.

Raised in North Andover, Rob was a graduate of North Andover High School and George Mason University. A Chelmsford resident for 35 years, he was employed by Sun Life Financial in Wellesley for over 30 years, and moved on to consulting for CareScout before retiring in 2023. He was happiest surrounded by his family, listening to good music, and enjoying time on his boat on Newfound Lake in New Hampshire. Rob cherished his family most of all, spending his time volunteering, coaching, and supporting his familys lives and goals.

A devoted father and grandfather, Rob leaves behind a loving family, including two daughters, Kathleen Doyle and her husband Brian of Chelmsford; Allison Perretta and her husband Thomas of Branford, CT; and a son, Robert Massey Jr. and his wife Nina of Hanover. Gaga will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren. Rob is also survived by his sister, Donna (Massey) Restivo and her husband Rick of Haverhill, his brother Scott and his wife Patti of North Andover, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Susan (Massey) Baron.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 26, from 4pm to 7pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27, at 11am at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Kindly meet at the Church. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Robs name to the International Association of Laryngectomees (theialvoice.org).

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and care providers at MEEI, MGH, and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided throughout Robs medical treatment.
