Robert E. Mitchell

Robert E. Mitchell, 77, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 3, 2018.

Born in Lowell on December 22, 1940, he was a son of the late William and Ella (Hood) Mitchell.

Prior to his retirement, Robert had worked for many years as a pressman for Courier Citizen. He was an avid Patriots fan, and enjoyed summer vacations with his family at Hampton Beach.

He is survived by his children, Robert Mitchell of Lowell, Aaron Mitchell and his wife Susan of Chelmsford, Emily Twardowski and her husband Michael of Spring Hill, TN and Andrew Mitchell of Grantham, NH; his grandchildren, Bobby, Lea, Christopher, Shane and Saylor; a great grandson, Gabriel; and a brother Raymond Mitchell and his wife Shirley of Dracut. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late William "Sonny" Mitchell, Carol "Snookie" Preston, Patricia O'Neill and Marion Stanley.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 6, 2018 at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD, from 11am - 1pm.

His funeral service will take place at 1 o'clock in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
