Robert G. Sundquist

SUNDQUIST, Robert G., age 93, of Chelmsford, passed away, October 23, 2023, peacefully at home with Edith, his beloved wife of 67 years. Born in Norwood in 1930, he grew up in Walpole, the son of the late Carl and Evelyn Sundquist. He and Edith moved to Chelmsford in 1958 and they made Chelmsford their home for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his wife, two children, Paul, and Alan Sundquist; three grandchildren, Josh Sundquist, Kimberly Eliasen, and Nicholas Sundquist; and two great grandchildren, Ryder, and Reese Sundquist.

He was a graduate of Northeastern University, with a BA in Electrical Engineering, and had a long career in engineering working mostly in the military and aviation sectors. He had a terrific sense of humor and was a great friend to many people. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and singing in the choir for decades. He loved the water and boating and vacationed on Lake Winnipesaukee for over fifty years. He considered the family vacations on Winnipesaukee to be the finest of times. He was a lifelong sports fan, particularly passionate about the Red Sox and Bruins, and passed on his love of sports to his sons and his grandchildren, all of whom were athletes. He traveled extensively to spectate at family sporting events. He was a voracious reader with a deep interest in history and politics. He also enjoyed coin collecting and modeling. Robert will be greatly missed as a friend, great-grandfather, grandfather, father, and husband.
