Ronald E. 'Ron' DeRosa Sr. Obituary (1953 - 2018)

Ronald E. DeRosa, Sr., 64, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away on Tuesday February 13, 2018. He was the husband of the late June M. (MacGilvray) DeRosa. Born in Somerville on May 8, 1953, he was the son of the late Edward E. DeRosa and Bellmira (Pacheco) DeRosa. Ron was raised and educated in Somerville having graduated from Somerville High School in 1972. For many years he had a career as a Transportation Manager with the company Iron Mountain. Most recently Ron was employed by the Lowell Sun in their distribution department and it was a job he really enjoyed. Ron always followed New England sports, especially the Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox. He had a great love for many genres of music and was always up for going to concerts or the movies. He will be missed every day. Ron is survived by his son, Ronald E. "Ron" DeRosa and his wife, Colleen of Reading; his daughter, Jill M. Chester and her husband, Stephen of Westford; his grandchildren, Caitlin and Ashley DeRosa of Reading and Connor Chester of Westford; his longtime girlfriend, Janet Jones of Chelmsford; two sisters, Joan Wallace of Auburndale, FL and Patricia Caruso and her husband Robert of Medford; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Friday February 16, 2018 from 4 until 8 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9 AM in St. Mary Church, 25 North Road, CHELMSFORD. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
