Stephen Richard Monti

Stephen Richard Monti, age 59, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at Tufts Medical Center, Boston on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Diane Marie (Tilton) Monti with whom he enjoyed 20 years of marriage and shared an additional 10 years of devoted companionship prior.

In addition to his loving wife, Stephen leaves and was a devoted father to Sean and Andrew. He leaves his brothers Michael and Christopher, his in-laws Patricia, William, and George, his sister in-law Michelle, his brothers-in-law William, Robert, and Brian, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was born in Arlington on March 10, 1967, and was the son of the late Richard Frank and Evelyn Pauline (Chabot) Monti. He grew up with his two brothers in Billerica, playing baseball and football with them throughout his childhood. Stephen also considered his best friend Christopher Carbone as an extension of his own family, with whom he enjoyed playing golf and traveling.

Stephen graduated from UMass Lowell with a bachelor’s degree in finance and began his career as a senior accountant at Enterprise Rent a Car. He continued his career at Brandeis University, later working at his “dream jobs” Diamond USA and, most recently, UrsaNav.

Aside from work, Stephen loved to watch and play sports with his family, as well as coaching his two sons in baseball. Stephen enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Grilling was one of his favorite hobbies in addition to going to the beach and swimming. Stephen was known for his dad jokes and love for family game nights.

Stephen is forever in our hearts until we meet again.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
