Thelma E Porter

Thelma Porter, 94, a longtime resident of Tyngsboro, MA, died peacefully in her sleep on March 25, 2018 at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA.

Thelma was born in Concord, NH on January 10, 1924 and she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Palmer) Harris. Her loving husband of 57 years, Robert M. Porter, predeceased her.

She received her education in Concord, NH schools. In two different periods of her life she was employed along with her husband Robert at Lowell area furniture companies. Thelma loved to bake and her family enjoyed her fresh bread, cakes and pies. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially New Hampshires mountains and beaches. Listening to all types of music was one of her favorite pastimes.

She had been a baptized Jehovahs Witness for the past 76 years. She was a member of the Chelmsford Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses for the past 58 years and she always looked for opportunities to share her faith with others.

Thelma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mary Porter of Hudson, NH, her granddaughter and grandson, Aquiel Porter and Harrison Porter of Hudson, NH, her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Karen Harris of Contoocook, NH and her nephew, Roger Campbell of Andalusia, AL.

It being her wish, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chelmsford Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 220 North Road, Chelmsford, MA on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to New England Hospice, 190 Old Derby Street, Suite 304, Hingham, MA 02043.
