Thomas F. Frank ODonoghue Obituary (1936

Thomas F. Frank ODonoghue, age 86, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Acton on Saturday, January 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Gael (McIsaac) ODonoghue with whom he enjoyed 55 years of marriage. He was born in Kanturk, Cork, Ireland on November 8, 1936 and was the son of the late Timothy and Ellen (Morrissey) ODonoghue. Frank immigrated from Ireland and shortly thereafter entered the US Air Force. After 4 years of service his occupation of a clinical lab tech and supervisor took him to Sancta Maria Hospital Cambridge, VA Hospital Jamaica Plain (Ret.), Nashoba Valley Hospital, and Acton Medical Associates. He enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards and listening to Irish music. He was a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. By far his most enjoyment came when spending time with his friends and family. He deeply adored his granddaughters who called him Grand Da. In addition to his loving wife, Frank is survived by his son Shaun T. ODonoghue; his son Mark T. ODonoghue and his wife Melissa, granddaughters Nora, Maeve, and Evelyn; his daughter Kerry E. Cady; his daughter Erin H. and her husband James Hartnett; his brother John ODonoghue; and many nieces and nephews both here in the States and Ireland. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings; his sisters Eileen, Joan, and Mary; his brothers Joe, Ted, Eddie, Denis, and David. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 18th from 9am to 10:30am at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Alzheimers Association at www.alz.org.
