Walter B. Reilly Jr. Obituary (1925 - 2013)

WESTFORD Walter B. Reilly, Jr., of Westford, MA, formerly of Lowell, MA and Drakes Island, ME, died on January 9, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born to Walter B. Reilly and Florence Trask. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Regina, and seven children Walter B. Reilly, III of Westford, MA, Charles D. Reilly and his wife Pamela of Westwood, MA, Christine Curtis and her husband Daniel of Chelmsford, MA, Sally Zeller of York, ME, Janet Hellberg and her husband Steven of Pittsburgh, PA, Jean Ahonen and her husband David of Franklin, MA, James C. Reilly and his wife Catherine of Missoula, MT, and 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Henry T. Reilly and was predeceased by his sister Frances Mack. Mr. Reilly was educated at Dartmouth College and Tufts University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. He spent his entire business career at the Courier Corporation of Lowell, MA, and last served as senior vice president and as a member of the board of directors. He served as president of the Greater Lowell Old Scouts, was a past president of the Merrimack Valley United Fund (77-78), a member of the executive committee of the Research and Engineering Council of the Graphic Arts of America, and a member of the board of overseers of Aquinas House of Dartmouth College. Mr. Reilly was also a long-time member of Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, 107 North Main St., Westford, MA. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the VNA & Hospice of Greater Lowell, 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852, or Aquinas House at Dartmouth College, P. O. Box 147, Hanover, NH 03755.
