Whitey Morris Obituary (1932

Whitey Morris, of North Chelmsford, a former longtime resident of Billerica, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital. He was 85 years old. Whitey was the beloved husband of Gloria J. (Lohnes) Morris to whom he has been married for 53 years. He was born in Boston on February 12, 1932 and was a son of the late James and Marie (Boudreau) Morris. Whitey grew up in Billerica and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany for over two years. Upon returning home, Whitey ran his brother's construction company before setting out on his own as a brick mason. Whitey and his family settled in Chelmsford to raise their family. Whitey was a passionate horseman and competed in many horse shows. He was also previously involved with the Chelmsford 4-H. Whitey had a love of motorcycles and was a member of the Triple Towers Motorcycle Club. He competed in the Golden Gloves as well as weight lifting competitions at the YMCA in Woburn. In addition to his loving wife, Whitey is survived by his daughter Deb Hood of Dracut, son Dan Morris and his wife Sherrie of Nashua and three grandchildren; Haley, Jadyn, and Brielle. He also leaves his brother, Gwen Morris and sister Beverly Merrill. He also leaves sisters-in-law Linda Morris, Mary Morris, Helen Morris and Gerry Morris. He was the brother of the late Stewart, Darrell, Courtney "Moose", Charlie Morris and Harvey Morris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 4 to 7pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday at 10 o'clock at the funeral home followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery in North Chelmsford.
