Obituary for Robert A. Jackson

FLORIDA – Robert A. Jackson, 78, a resident of Palm Bay, FL and Chelmsford, died December 8th at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved life partner of Eleanor R. Combs for 26 years.
He was born in Lynn on October 24, 1934 and was the son of the late John and Anna (Dahm) Jackson. He received his education in Saugus schools and was a graduate of Saugus High School, where he played baseball and football.

Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 7, 1952 and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement, he worked in all aspects of the construction business. He was a lifelong fan of both playing and watching all sports. He spent his retirement years golfing and spending time in the company of his family and friends, especially the children.

In addition to Eleanor, Robert is survived by his children, Carlene Brigham and her husband George, Gail Bernier and her husband Tim, Tammy Medonis and Bill Beardsley, Michael Jackson and his wife Rhonda, and Mark Jackson; his stepchildren, Linda Gagne and her husband Alfred, Pamela Peck and her husband Gary, and Barbara Ryan; his siblings, Barbara Lamon, James Jackson, Richard Jackson and his wife Florence, David Jackson and his wife Stephanie, Neil Jackson and his wife Faye, Gail Campbell and her husband Clay, Daniel Jackson and his wife Andrea, Wayne Jackson and his wife Carol, and Gary Jackson and his wife Patricia; dear friends, Steven and Diana Combs and Ronald and Elizabeth Combs; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was also the father of the late Sandra Bernier and the brother of the late John and Charles Jackson.

A celebration of life visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Saturday, December 29th from 3 until 5 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
